Over a dozen marchers of all ages brought the IHCC message to the Brooklyn 4th of July parade. Cheers and applause greeted our crew as we walked by carrying a banner version of our yard sign at the front. Over 200 IHCC information cards were handed out, along with nature-themed temporary tattoos for the kids.
We proudly represented Watkins Lake with:
- A ten-foot-tall Mother Earth puppet
- A ten-foot-wide diorama of the lake and its inhabitants
- Marchers dressed as birds, butterflies, and trees
- An impressive eagle swooping alongside us
We were greatly encouraged by the warm and positive response from the community. Special thanks go to Margaret Bialecki, who first imagined the project and brought it to life through creativity, craftsmanship, and the help of many merry marchers!
