Update from IHCC meeting – March 14

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you to everyone who attended IHCC’s public meeting. We were encouraged by the strong turnout and the thoughtful questions about protecting Watkins Lake State Park & County Preserve.

Slides from the meeting are on the website. A recording will be posted soon on our website. We are also creating a FAQ page based on your excellent questions. Please keep them coming!

Upcoming Township Meetings
Two township meetings are happening this week:
• Township Board – Monday at 6:00 PM
• Planning Commission – Wednesday at 6:00 PM

The gravel mine is not currently on the agenda, but residents can still make public comment. These meetings remain important early opportunities to inform decision makers, ask questions, and express concerns.

How You Can Help
Community involvement makes a real difference!

• Attend the Planning Commission meeting with us on Wednesday at 6:00 PM

• Donate to support outreach, research, and legal defense
• Tell neighbors and encourage them to sign up for updates at IHCCInfo.org
• Display a yard sign (or two!)
• Help distribute signs or assist with community outreach; do you know of events where we could “table”? Are you in a book club, church group, etc. where you (or we) could make a short presentation?
• Volunteer with IHCC to plan events, research, and more!

We will announce pop-up sign events on Facebook and our website. If you’d like to help with sign distribution and other outreach, email protectparks@ihccinfo.org.
